Where the count is read
On the Page or profile header — the line someone reads in the second before deciding whether to follow you too.
That is the whole job, and it is worth stating plainly because most sales pages promise more. A follower count does not make posts reach further on its own. Meta's ranking decides distribution from signals it does not publish, and anybody claiming to know the formula is guessing in public.
What is verifiable is the reading: the number is there, it is visible, and it is what a stranger uses to size you up.

What Meta writes about it
This belongs here, because deciding without it is deciding on half the picture.
Meta's Community Standards treat artificially inflating engagement as inauthentic behaviour, and the stated consequences range from reduced distribution to removal of the asset. The platform decides, and no store answers for that decision.
